Assessment Protocol
All students are assessed three times a year in AReading, Fastbridge Curriculum Based Measurement, and the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System. Qualification Students qualify for reading services based on how they score on all three of these assessments along with teacher input. |
AReading
The Fastbridge AReading test is a computer based test where students read several passages and answer multiple choice questions pertaining to the passages read. CBM This is an individualized test that takes 3 minutes to administer. Students are asked to read three passages for one minute each. The assessor is monitoring the time and words read correctly. The average of the three passages read will be taken as a final score. Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System The BAS is an individualized test used to gage a child's instructional reading level. Students read a text to their teacher and then discuss the information in the book after. |
